I stumbled across To the Giver of All Blessings while looking through my grandfather’s 1909 hymnal, and it immediately captured my heart. I had never heard it before, but the beautiful poetry and heartfelt expression of gratitude felt timeless. I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
As I continued to revisit the text, I felt inspired to write a new melody that would help bring these wonderful words to life for a new generation. I also added a final verse centered on the Savior, while preserving William Park’s original three verses exactly as he wrote them.
It is my hope that this new choral setting introduces others to a hymn that might otherwise have remained forgotten, and that it encourages each of us to recognize the countless blessings that come from the Giver of all blessings.
