One Sunday, many years ago my friend and I, as the assigned music people in the ward, decided that we were going to be brave and sing “Joy to the World” on Easter Sunday.
It’s been a tradition ever since.
(One year we sang something else and the stake president complained.)
What does this have to do with this song?
I wanted to write an Easter song and somehow incorporate “Joy to the World,” so in the final verse and chorus I have weaved bits and pieces of it into the original melody of this song. It’s kind of a fun surprise to those listening.
This song isn’t boisterous and loud, rather, it is gentle and flowing. Peaceful and contemplative.
