One of the most beautiful melodies in the LDS hymn book is hymn #169, “As Now We Take the Sacrament” by Dan Carter, but because it is a sacament hymn, it’s rarely sung by choirs or done for musical numbers.
Applying the lyrics from the ever popular “Abide With Me, ‘Tis Eventide” to the tune of “As Now We Take the Sacrament” is the perfect hymn mash-up, in my opinion. It brings new life to “Abide With Me…” while giving the choir the opportunity to sing the beautiful melody of “As Now We Take the Sacrament.”
